Gems of Fate are essence gems which grant more power-ups after combat but impose penalties to one of the player's ability scores. There are three basic types of Gem of Fate: * Warrior's gems, which grant more Health power-ups but impose a penalty to Body. * Monk's gems, which grant more Chi power-ups but impose a penalty to Spirit. * Scholar's gems, which grant more Focus power-ups but impose a penalty to Focus. Each of these three kinds of gem comes in two strengths: ordinary and Greater.
