Joshua Norwood Thorn was the son of Leah and Jared Thorn, the brother of Abel Thorn, and the uncle of Seth Thorn. In life, he had served as a member of the Regimental Officer Corps. He died around his mid-twenties, and was almost certainly interred in the Thorn family crypt on Croatoa. He also remained in the corporeal world as a ghost, wearing "a wide-brimmed hat," "a uniform and carrying a sword." In November of 2009, he helped to guide Valeria White through the forests on Croatoa. During the Summer of 2010, he greeted Julia King and Alexandra Quick at the Thorn family crypt.
