A Destined Battle is the player's fight with the character who is his rival or sworn enemy. They always occur near or just before the final battle of a character's story. Destined Battle opponents are specific to each character, and usually resolve a part of the character's plot conflict. For example, in Soulcalibur III, Cervantes fights Taki as his Destined Battle, who in the storyline had banished him to Hell once before. On some occasions, the Destined Battle is actually against a friend/ally of the characters, such as Kilik's Destined Battle in SC2 with Xianghua. In some cases, Destined Battles can even happen between a set of characters who have never met before.
