The Battle of Alderaan was a major space battle during the Second Sith Civil War. Grand Admiral Marix found out where the True Republic Fleet would be heading and ordered his fleet to meet them at Alderaan. He set many mines in the asteroid field, and many of the Republic ships were destroyed or heavily damaged. He then launched an all out frontal and flank attack that completely overwhelmed the surprised enemy fleet. It was a major victory, in the sense that the True Republic had almost no fleet after this battle.
