In 17 B.E., Vallory was fighting in the Battle of Shavad when he was wounded in his leg severely. He was taken to a secure room in the building where the Company was taking cover, and combat medic Pvt.Kinnear worked on his leg to stop the bleeding. However, he was losing a lot of blood, and would likely die if he was not casevaced to a hospital. He was later casevaced by a Tern, and taken to a field hospital in Lakar, where he recovered from his wounds.
