A Scarab miniature naquadah bomb was named after the fact that they were capable of creating themselves from nothing. They were also known as an improved miniature naquadah bomb. They were lodged into a victim's body where its small appearance makes it nearly undetectable to its enemies at first. Once its activated, it begins to grow to its full size where it becomes explosive capable and detonates once it detects the presence of a Stargate. What gives it its explosive power is a reaction between naquadah and potassium. A biological layer decays between naquadah and the potassium when it is close proximity to the gate.
