An unmanned deep space probe heading for the outer solar system, possibly even beyond the Kuiper Belt. The probe's onboard systems were controlled by a semi-intelligent logic core which communicated with the Earth-based mission control. In 2145, the probe discovered a curious spatial anomaly dubbed a "negative-light object" beyond the orbit of Sedna. After negotiating with mission control on a course adjustment, it initiated the first engine burst in November 2145 to alter its trajectory for a closer look at this area.
