The Qais family is based in Summersea, Emelan. It is famous for its work in the Provost's Guard in Summersea. It is incredibly loyal and hard-working and bring's many of Duke Vedris's enemies and criminals to justice. Abbas Qais, being the oldest member of the Qais family, is at its head. His two known children are Isman Qais and Zahra Qais; the latter married into the Acalon family, another prominent Harrier clan. Most members of the Qais and the Acalon families are very down to earth, and do not understand why Pasco isn't.
