As in all of Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars roleplaying games, Saga Edition's game rules are based on the d20 System similar to the third and fourth edition of Dungeons and Dragons. Wizards of the Coast produced a total of 14 books for the Saga Edition. Also released during the Saga Edition production era was Dawn of Defiance, a campaign comprising ten downloadable adventures designed as one story arc that takes characters from level 1 to the maximum level 20. Also released were a great many web supplements, including Jedi Counseling articles, of which articles #100-115 dealt with Saga Edition, and a Saga Edition Conversion Guide, which showed how to convert characters from the previous Revised Core Rulebook to Saga Edition.
