The Avesta Plantation was the estate of the Avesta family, the governing house of Makeb. During the Conquest of Makeb in 3639 BBY, it was the base of operations of Shalim Avesta, head of the Avesta family and its mining corporation and Makeb's de facto head of state. Shalim and his loyalist militia, aided by representatives from the Galactic Republic, rallied the effort to bring down Supreme Mogul Toborro and evacuate the people of Makeb to safety.
