Ernest George Sanders (1879-28 March 1960). The son of a Dorset-born carman, he was born in Southwark. Appointed to the London County Council 5 March 1940, serving as a Labour Party member until 1946, representing Southwark Central. Mayor of Southwark 1945-46.
