Extreme Championship Wrestling Federation, Inc. (ECWF) is a wrestling promotion owned by Paul Heyman and Shane McMahon, run on a level almost equal to that of WWE. The company started as a small independent promotion running out of New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom, but with Shane McMahon now at the helm, ECWF has gone national. The first ECWF show took place on Tuesday, October 3, 2006. DeGenerative became the first tag team champions, and Abyss won the vacant ECWF title in a six man gauntlet match. The show was taped at the Hammerstein Ballroom, and streamed to ECWF.co.nr. After a few weeks, local broadcaster the MSG network took interest. The first broadcast of ECWF on MSG took place on November 14, 2006.
