Chris was a solicitor and family friend of the Websters. Following the release of John Stape - who had been imprisoned for the kidnap of the Websters' eldest daughter Rosie, and angry that Stape had moved into 5 Coronation Street with his new wife Fiz right on their doorstep, Kevin Webster went to Chris's office for advice only to be told that there was little chance of getting an injunction against him.
