An Olympic Gala is a television special commemorating the 1984 summer Olympic Games. It was produced by Jerry Weintraub and aired on ABC in July. The Muppets appeared in the special as well as celebrity guests Neil Diamond, Placido Domingo, Gene Kelly, Burt Lancaster, Gregory Peck, Olivia Newton-John, Esther Williams, Dudley Moore, Henry Mancini, Walter Matthau and Sarah Vaughan. Jane Fonda and Robert Wagner were co-hosts.
