As a CorSec employee, Kaffman's father was a secret communications monitor whom CorSec "owed a lot of favors." He used his reputation with CorSec to rally a fleet of Y-wing bombers to assist the 1337 N00B5 during the return to Tralus, and afterward used unknown methods to get the CorSec communications monitors to turn a blind eye to the 1337 N00B5 activities, albeit temporarily.
