Abelard is Halt's horse. He can be very funny, (e.g. in book 9, Halt's Peril, the horse seems to raise his eyebrows many times, obviously a habit learned from the grizzled ranger) and is a ranger horse, a breed stolen from the Temujai by Halt. They were bred by Old Bob , an old guy named Bob, who is a friend of Halt. Tug and Blaze , Will and Gilan's horses respectively, are also ranger horses.
