Bath City are an important part of the history of Bristol Rovers because they acted as landlords to The Gas for ten years. When Rovers were forced to leave Eastville in 1987 Bath came to the rescue and allowed them to play their home games at Twerton Park. The two teams have only met once in competitive football, but there have also been a large number of pre-season friendlies played by the clubs.
