The USS Chimera (NCC-71653) was the prototype of the Chimera-class that saw service with the Federation Starfleet during the 24th century. It was launched in 2366. The Chimera was destroyed in 2374 during the Dominion War. (Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 1: The Ships of Starfleet)
