Portable plasma-incinerator units were devices used for sterilization. Portable plasma-incinerator units were small enough to be carried by a single individual, and were more than capable of burning through ferroconcrete. They were most notably used during the outbreak of the Krytos virus; clean teams would take samples from a site where a victim died, and then burn everything in the area - down to the first five millimeters of ferrocrete - to a white ash to prevent the spread of the virus.
