The unnamed Mechanic returned Pat Phelan's car to his mill conversion building site after a service. Phelan had been missing for a couple of days after Gary Windass's attack on him following his revelation that he had been trying it on with his mother, Anna. Gary and Owen Armstrong saw the car arrive and held their breath, thinking it was Phelan himself but the unsuspecting mechanic passed the keys to Tom, another builder, and left.
