Samolus Fixa was a descendant of: Gonff the Mousethief, Dandin, Abbess Bryony, Columbine, and Gonff II. He is also the granduncle of Bisky, great-granduncle to Andio, and possibly related to the Gonfelin Thieves. He was the of Redwall Abbey, as well as an old friend of Abbot Glisam. Samolus joined in fights and raced the young ones, often beating them. Samolus earned the title "Fixa" for his ability to repair almost anything.
