At maximum the user can only affect targets that are within a 10 meter radius around their bodies. This means that anyone outside that radius could still see them and direct the others in where to strike. Animals and other summons are also able to pick up on the scent or other impulses making it ineffective against them or Shinobi such as the Inuzuka Clan who have a higher level of natural senses.
