Despite the hardship he suffered during his childhood, Ishtal has proven to be a wise, impartial and compassionate Eucar Judge. One of Ishtal's main political agendas has been to achieve social equality for the disenfranchised Shamanists on Luna who have been oppressed for generations. Although Ishtal faces great opposition from the Luna elders, his modesty and kind personality have won him great popularity amongst Eucar's citizenry.
