Dame Shelagh Marjorie Roberts (13 October 1924 - 16 January 1992) was an industrial relations consultant and Conservative Party politician. Born in South Wales, she moved to London where she became a member of Chelsea Borough Council in 1953, and of its successor Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council from 1965 - 1971. In 1970 she became a member of the Greater London Council representing Havering 1970 – 1973 and Upminster 1973 – 1981. In 1977 she became Chair of the GLC's Planning and Communications Policy Committee. More information on the Wikipedia page [1].
