In 1900 PD, Westerfeldt held the rank of Colonel and was assigned to the PRH consulate on Medusa (affiliated to the one of tribal states in the Delta). He was the primary field operations officer for Operation Odysseus on Medusa. He set up false trails, even officially resigning from the PRH Army, and supervised the planned native religious and drug-fueled uprising the PRH intended to use as a stepping stone to seizing control of the Basilisk Terminus of the Manticoran Junction. He was in charge of the modern mekoha (native Meduan drug) production lab project (supervising its nominal staff of criminals, some Manticoran) and its incriminating record keeping. It was he who informed the lab's director of a planned raid by the incoming Native Protection Agency raid, leading to the destruction
