Susumu Hanae was the Imperial Scribe under Iweko II. When Daigotsu Kanpeki declared war on the Empire in 1200, Hanae was already of advamced age and was among the Spider who remained loyal to the Iweko Dynasty. She never had family of her own, but Susumu Kuroko (her daimyo before Iweko II put his brother Shibatsu into this position) kindly glossed over this fault.
