Carloman "the Lost" (19 November 860-c.879) was the Emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire and the Frankish Empire from 14 April 879 until he was declared dead in 879. His rule, largely uneventful, was cut short when he went missing in approximately September of 879. After a month-long search, he was declared to be likely dead, losing the throne on 27 October, 879. He was never found. His eight-month-old son, Christophorus I, succeeded him.
