Abyssal is a word meaning pertaining to an abyss. The abyss/abyssal zone refers to a specific region of the ocean which spans 4000-6000m down (where no light reaches). An Abyssal Pugil would be one from the deep, dark depths of an ocean far down (but not from the ocean floor).
