Upsilon-class cruisers were used in The Grand Navy Of The Galactic Republic and Alliance to Restore the Republic fleets as cargo-runners, colonisation ships, inter-planetary support ships (ion-cannon carriers and other large cannon/artillery). They were manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards and were one of the few craft that all manufactured types (including prototypes) that made it through the whole Rise of The Empire to The New Republic periods without losing one type in battle or any other accident. During the Second battle of the Coryuila system (Galactic Civil War) the Upsilon fleet (25 craft at the time) was used to supply Alliance bases across the system.
