Becker attended Centennial High School in Peoria, Arizona and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from the University of Arizona in 2006. He edited and produced the "William Shatner Tribute" for his Lifetime Achievement Award at the JVA Film Festival in Los Angeles, California in 2007. Becker has worked as an editor on several programs, such as SportsCenter (2006), NFL Live (2007), and Baseball Tonight (2007-2008) prior to his work inside Star Trek. He also served as an assistant editor on the reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2007).
