Rex Pine was a teacher at Lime School of History and, later, Pine School of History. He was a history fanatic and liked his best friend Skipper Brisbane. He went on to write many books about his adventures with General R2 and Shade Laonash Kenobi. He was taught to use a lightsaber so that he could protect R2 when in danger. He was a student at Merryfields School, which was famous for its unhygienic routine.
