The plot is the same as with the original Children of the Gods. The scenes have been replaced with new ones, and new special effects have been added. In effect, the episode has been essentially transformed and re-released as an SG-1 direct-to-DVD movie, complete with a brand-new opening title card. Also, some bits of dialog are missing from the new shots, but this is inconsequential. The film ends with a dedication to Don S. Davis, who died in 2008.
