To get here, the party must traverse the last platform of the Great Battle Scar. This can be accomplished by warping to the Great Battle Scar, and taking the vent upwards. Once at the top, instead of going left to get to the interior, if the party heads right, they will come to a bend that dead-ends at a long slope downwards. Slide down the slope to the first landing and then the second and climb the ladder found there. The Machina Refuge can also be reached by repeatedly jumping forwards up the battle scar.
