Upon arriving from 2153 to the year 2004 in the city of Detroit, Michigan, Jonathan Archer and T'Pol were searching for transportation in order to find Xindi-Reptilians who had also time traveled. Archer decided to break into a car, though T'Pol noted that there was an "apparatus" on the car's wheel. Instead, Archer and T'Pol stole a Dodge Ram pick-up truck. (ENT: "Carpenter Street") In the final draft script of "Carpenter Street", this locking mechanism was consistently referred to as a "boot".
