The 1987 Wrangler Jeans Indigo 400 was a Winston Cup Series (now Nextel Cup) event held at Richmond International Raceway on September 13, 1987. Dale Earnhardt dominated the race, leading 220 of 400 laps in route to victory over Darrell Waltrip. It was Earnhardt's third straight victory and eleventh and final win of the year. All of this kept Earnhardt way in front of the championship battle, extending his edge to 608 points on Bill Elliott (4th).
