The United Nations Space Command Pararescue is a joint-services special operations group established to conduct Combat Search and Rescue in order to recover and provide medical treatment to military personnel under combat conditions. Officially under the command of Naval Special Warfare Command, Pararescuemen are the only members of the UNSC Defense Force specifically trained, equipped, and organized to carry out personnel recovery operations in hostile or denied territory as a primary mission. Pararescue also serves as a prime recruiting ground for the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, and PJ's routinely deploy as combat medics during special operations.
