Leonid Makine was a SRPA scientist. On August 13, 1951, Makine wrote a notice to his colleague Joshua Lederberg that he is being conscripted to SRPA's facility on Ellis Island due to his knowledge in genetics, and advised that even though it is unbecoming but it is a necessary sacrifice in the face of the Chimeran War.
