Corporal Ken Sato was a destroid pilot aboard the Daedalus. He worked with the first-generation Destroid Tomahawk aboard the SDF-1. During the battlefortress' voyage home, two of his teams were killed in action. He was then assigned as an adviser to Dr. Helen Lee's research team to fix the destroids. When the SDF-1 returned home, he rescued a fellow pilot from the water. As his CO Chris Hillary was killed as part of his team, another pilot blamed him for his death and fought him in their destroids, although both craft were disabled.
