Dungeonpunk is a fantasy aesthetic incorporating mohawks, tattoos, outrageously sized weapons, and impractical armor designs. The term seems to have originated as a term for the Warhammer aesthetic, and probably derives from cyberpunk and steampunk in much the same way space opera derived from horse opera. The style is exmplified Heavy Metal, a fantasy graphical storytelling magazine. The combination of metal plates, chains, and impractical profusions of spikes is known as chaosspikeybits.
