Where ever did you get the idea that roosters can't fly. Roosters can not only fly but are feared by Chicken Hawks. Read the last half of the text at my county decor sales page at [1] Those hawks don't hover so high because they are looking for the chicks. It's because they are looking out for the rooster. Most young mother hens can do the same thing except she don't have the practice experience that the rooster grow up with or the knockout power as the roosters have the largest spurs.
