The Sarlaccs were a criminal gang based in Gorse City on the Inner Rim world of Gorse during the Age of the Empire. The gang was named after the sarlacc, a large predatory creature. During the Gorse conflict, the rebel operative Hera Syndulla hired the Sarlaccs to stage a fight outside the Moonglow Polychemical headquarters while she rescued the dissident miner Skelly. However, the gang's leader then increased their pay and tried to rob her. The Jedi Purge survivor Kanan Jarrus then arrived and managed to defeat the gang, winning Syndulla's admiration and friendship.
