The Battle of Dunmere was fought in early 17 ABY, and marked the beginning of the Galenian Wars. The battle began as a purely space-based battle, but spread to the surface of Dunmere Prime after the pirate fleet had been dispatched. Along with the approximately 30,000 prisoners of war, some 60,000 pirate-affiliated civilians were detained by Confederate forces.
