The 1963-51 was a Nextel Cup Series (now Nextel Cup) event held at Tar Heel Speedway on October 5, 1963. Fred Lorenzen led much of the race, but fell to both Richard Petty and mechanical issues in the late stages of the race, as Petty went on to victory over eventual season champ Joe Weatherly. Stats
