Jacob joined the Falador Militia at the age of 12, where he trained to become a white knight. However, 1 year later he moved to Varrock because his dad lost his job. In Varrock Jacob joined the Varrock Militia, where he met David Ramlock, who he became very close friends with. Jacob's father, however, did not have the money to pay for Jacob's training at the Varrock Militia so Jacob left home in anger and sadness.
