Charles Edwin Stone (4 February 1889 – 29 August 1952) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Charles was born in the town of Ripley in Derbyshire. When he was 29 years old, and a gunner in the 'C' Battery 83rd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, British Army during the First World War, the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC. His Victoria Cross is displayed at the Royal Artillery Museum, Woolwich, England.
