A humanoid species was native to a planet in the Trann galaxy. In 2267, a Trann starship crashed on a planet in Galaxy Zekbran. Its crew, while attempting power their engines, accidentally invented an age-ray. They planned to use it to halt their aging while so they could live long enough to repair their ship or be rescued. After testing it on members of a Starfleet landing party, Kooba decided to use it to steal the USS Enterprise so he could return to his home world and conquer it. His plans were defeated by Captain Kirk with the aid of Laiko. (TOS comic: "The Youth Trap")
