Chad Spencer, a 'trust fund baby', is a young man that was sent by his parents to a drug treatment facility in Mexico. After his return, he suffered a fatal car accident and it revealed a flaw in his treatment. He had been turned into a vampire. He killed two good samaritans that tried to help him and then 'converted' several of his friends that had been in treatment with him. He awakened the vampiric gene in them as well. He was later cured and 'devamped' by Nikola Tesla (aka Dr Heinrich Baunschlager).
