1 May 1915 – 21 August 1982 Labour Party member of the London County Council elected 1958 1961 for Camberwell Dulwich. Following the abolition of the London County Council he served on the successor Greater London Council as a representative of Southwark from 1964-73. He was Deputy Chairman of the GLC in 1971-72.
