FAE is the acronym for Fuel Air Explosion. It is seen in Episode I on the Woglinde. Lt. Virgil survived because he was in an A.G.W.S., but Shion was completely unprotected; it is unknown how she survived the attack, though the M.W.S. entry does state that it contains spatial-phase shielding. It's possible she may have been just far enough away to avoid the brunt of the explosion. A type of Gnosis known as Manticores have been known to fire these from their tails.
