"Letter of the Day" is a Sesame Street song/segment performed in all episodes in season 45, all but one of season 46 and less regularly in season 47. Elmo takes the lead of this hip-hop song (along with Big Bird, Abby Cadabby, Grover, Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, Rosita and Murray Monster) introducing the letter of the day and encouraging viewers to clap to the letter of the day. The song was re-created by the cast of Galli Galli Sim Sim for their ninth season.
